Long Time No Blog

I can't believe it's almost August. It's been a while since I last posted here. See I told you that I don't keep this updated very well. So what's been going on with us since my last post.....WELL alot! Sofia is now 9 months old and she is getting so big. She is definitely achieving some unique characteristics. She's got such a funny personality. She makes us laugh all the time. She's got this incredible smile that melts your heart immediately. That baby is always happy. I've returned to work full time. It's been very difficult balancing out the family life, being a new mom, and working full time. Sometimes I feel guilty for not being around my daughter as much. It saddens to me to know that she spends more time at daycare than with me. I don't know how working moms do it....but I guess we just do it because we have to. I hope to someday be at home raising my children, watching them grow, and bond with them. Not that I don't get to do all this already, I just don't get to do enough of it.
Les graduated from the Academy and is now patrolling the streets and keeping them safe. He works a very hectic schedule that we see each other in passing. I'm leaving for work when he's coming home from work, and vice versa. He also works every-other weekend, so we don't get to see each other every weekend.
Here are some updated pics of our little princess. Enjoy!

Our daughter Sofia is getting so big

Isn't she soooo precious!

Sorry, like I said before, I am not very good at updating this blog. Here are some updated photos of our little angel. She is such a joy to have. I still can't believe I am a Mom. Life has sure changed for me this past year

SHE'S HERE! BABY SOFIA HAS ARRIVED

Our daughter Sofia was born on October 21, 2007. She was born at 2:11pm after 32 hours of labor. (Yes....32 hours.... after 24 hours of labor I was too tired to handle it anymore...I needed some pain relief). She weighed in at 7 lbs 3 oz. and 19 inches long.

30 Weeks and Counting!

10 more weeks to go before Sofia Annamria Cummings is here. We are quickly approaching her arrival. Every morning that I get out of bed I notice my belly getting bigger and bigger! How much bigger can my tummy get? I'm at the point where I'm uncomfortable, tired, out of breath, and complaining that my back and hips hurt all the time. The baby is squishing my insides and leaving little room for lungs to expand and contract. Not to mention my stomach is squished and that leads to countless days of heartburn and indigestion. I'm not liking being pregnant, but don't get me wrong, I am so anxious, excited, thrilled, and thankful to have a baby coming. Les and I are still working on the nursery. We will post before and after pics once our project is complete. We have the crib, changing table, bassinet all set up and awaiting for her arrival. 10 more weeks to go. 6 more weeks of work and then I'm on leave. I'm looking forward to the time off so that I can prepare for her arrival and also relax and rest as the closer I get to my due date the more immobile I become.

We're Famous!

I thought I would post this link. While Les was serving in Iraq, he became friends with a reporter from the Oregonian (a local newspaper in Portland). The reporter has a blog in which he posts updates about troops he met in his travels to Iraq. He also posts current events in regards to the Oregon Soldiers currently serving in Iraq/Afghanistan and at home. He put a little blurb about Les and I getting married last year.

LETS GO SOUTHGATE!

Les and I went to my niece and nephew's swim meet last Saturday. They both swam their best times. This is only the 3rd swim meet they have participated in. They are swimming for the same swim team that I swam for when I was their age. I was on that team for 15 years. Lets see if they can break my record.....

Rosella and Rico are big smiles after their race.

Rico is finishing 1st in his heat in the breaststroke!

Swimmers take your marks!

Bang!

I can't wait to swim!

When's it my turn?

Les and Rico. Rico just finished first in his race.

I'm done...can I have my treat now?

Catching you up

The other weekend, Les and I enjoyed the festivities at the Livermore Rodeo. Here are a few pics from that day.

Pictures of our Ultrasound @ 18 weeks

Here are ultrasound pics at 18 weeks. As of today's date we are 21 weeks. Our due date is October 25, 2007. Same day as my sister's birthday.

Awwww. Isn't this relaxing!

One of her feet. The other one is hiding.

Hands! 2 of them with 5 fingers each.

Here's her ear and spine/ribs.

It's a girl! Can't you tell. Les is still holding on to some hope that something was being hidden while taking this picture.

Here is Sofia lying on her back. She's just chillin.

Here is little Sofia in her fetal position. Her knees are bent and her hands are up by her head. She is facing you.
